‘OHANA COALITION MAUI
`Ohana Coalition Maui has been formed as a broad-based citizens' initiative coming together to level the political playing field. Our goal is to help more citizens bring their expertise into local government, not just those few already entrenched in office and the well-financed who seek to buy their way in.
As we researched the most affective way to proceed, we were required to follow certain legal guidelines. `Ohana Coalition Maui, therefore, is registered as a political action committee under the laws of the State of Hawaii, enabling it to raise funds to directly endorse political candidates who share the same values and support a similar platform.
Now that the 2008 election cycle is well underway, we will soon begin posting all new election information and website links on our pages. Please bookmark this site and come back to visit whenever you need to learn more about Maui candidates for elective office.

All in the 'Ohana
Examining the contributions of a unique Political Action Committee
by Rob Parsons
Hope springs eternal every two years on Maui that a majority of visionary, dedicated candidates may be elected to County Council, finally achieving the pendulum swing back from the protracted tenure of a “more is better,” and “plantation politics as usual” majority mindset. Such was the optimism that percolated through a gathering of `Ohana Coalition Maui enthusiasts last Saturday afternoon at a campaign kickoff event held at the Hawaii Nature Center in `Iao Valley.

With election season right around the corner, 'Ohana Coalition Maui isn't wasting any time preparing for the polls. At an event on Saturday, June 28, at the Hawai'i Nature Center in 'Iao Valley, dozens of community members gathered to hear the crucial economic, environmental and social issues that will dominate this year's election.
